J.W. Ridgeway, Sr. Receives the MLK Lifetime Achievement Award

Mr. John W. (J.W.) Ridgeway, Sr. of Ellisville, Mississippi has been selected to receive The Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Golden Globe Lifetime Achievement Award.   This award is to be presented by the Celebrations Committee of the Pine Belt Mississippi.  This award exemplifies excellence.  His dedication not only to his work but also to helping many people in need, and changing the lives of countless people, by teaching them skills and trades giving them careers, and economic empowerment with gainful employment with his company, Ridgeway Homes.    Mr. Ridgeway, by offering those careers and teaching those skills allowed many to have homes in our beloved community of Laurel Mississippi.  The award ceremony will be held on January 20, 2024, at the Civic Center in Collins Mississippi.  

The Celebrations Committee commented that J.W. Ridgeway truly personifies the essence of what Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. spoke and preached about during the Civil Rights Movement.  His incredible journey through life has been an inspiration to all who have heard his story. Upon learning about his remarkable dedication and work, it was evident that Mr. Ridgeway has significantly contributed to changing the lives of many through career development, economic empowerment, and fostering the opportunity to live in Dr. Martin Luther King Jr's preferred beloved community.  This remarkable achievement was marked by a wonderful banquet and event.  It was truly a memorable evening filled with inspiration and appreciation for the incredible contributions made by Mr. J.W. Ridgeway, Sr.
